I have finally found a program that allows me to sync my music collect to my Android phone flawlessly! At the time I tried Doubletwist, MTP devices were not support (not sure if they still are.) Winamp would sync my music, but every time I would reconnect my phone to sync, Winamp would tell me that 60 or so tracks are missing on my Android device. Songbird worked in the beginning, but all new versions don’t sync properly.

I am happy to announce that MusicBee has worked wonderfully! I am able to create playlists, add music folders, watch music folders, etc. MusicBee is also fast on my Windows computer. I click the icon and the program loads in 1-2 seconds. What I also like about MusicBee is that you can install different skins or themes. I personally have always liked my music programs on the darker side. I don’t like the bright white such as iTunes. When you download MusicBee you can easily change the theme by going to File > View > Skins. I personally like the “Spooky Black” theme.

I’ve been syncing my music collection and playlists to my Samsung Galaxy Note II without any issues. I would imagine all other Android phones are supported, so give it a shot! Let me know what you think in the commends of MusicBee.

You can get musicbee at http://GetMusicBee.com

I lost my Samsung Galaxy S III at the bar Sad I know, right? I bought that sucker at full price too in July of 2012! $570. I was heart broken.

Anyway, I am now using the Samsung Galaxy Note II. I have been adding quite a bit of music to my collection, so I thought I should purchase a 64GB sd card this time for my phone instead of a 32GB micro sd card. I went to go put the SD card in my phone, and I immediately got an error message that said something like “SD card corrupt” I kind of figured this would happen, so I found a neat little program that will help you format your 64GB micro SD card properly so you can use it in your Android phone.

1. Insert your micro SD card into your computer with the adapter it came with. All new laptops / desktops typically come with these memory card slots I’m talking about. If you don’t have one, then find a friend, family member, co-worker, etc.

2. Download the program HERE . It’s a .exe program that doesn’t even require any installation on your system.

3. Select your SD card from the drop down list, and keep the defualt allocation unit size.

4. Click ‘Start’ and your SD card will format in a few seconds!

5. Go put your SD card in your Android phone and you should have roughly 59 – 60GB of free space!

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have successfully been using Jelly Bean on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III since November 14th, and I love it! A lot of people said Ice Cream Sandwich was the Android operating system that Android should have been all along. I have to disagree and say they were wrong. Ice Cream Sandwich was still plagued with lags and stutters. Jelly Bean has absolutely fixed this 100% now that Project Butter is built into Jelly Bean. Project Butter was meant to fix the stutter issues in previous versions of Android.

When I got the Samsung Galaxy S III the first week it was released, I told myself I wasn’t going to install any customer ROMs, because I didn’t want to have to go through the hassle and testing. Therefore, I wanted to wait until a STABLE version of Cyanogenmod 10 came out for the S3. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Cyanogenmod, it is a group of developers that build custom ROMs for your Android phone. They tend to release software updates more frequently than the big phone carriers, and they offer way better support on message boards across the Internet.

Anyway, Cyanogenmod 10 is Android Jelly Bean on the Samsung Galaxy S III and you can get the stable version here. You will of course have to have your phone rooted and have Clockwork Recovery downloaded onto your phone.

KNOWN ISSUES:

1. I sometimes have to double-click the home button to wake up my phone. Most of the time one click works, but once in a while I either have to push the power button or double tap the home button. Not a big issue.

2. Wifi disconnects randomly. Not sure if this is a modem issue. I did just upgrade my modem to I747UCLI5 which is a version after the one I was running (which was I747UCLH9). I think this will fix the issue. If you need to download the newest modem, you can get that here.

Other than that the phone is stable, no crashes, and all my apps work! If you’re interested in some screenshots, here are 3 that I took:

Google is pulling quite a few rabbits out of their magical hat lately! The Nexus tablets seem to be doing fairly well, and with the new Nexus 10 tablet coming soon at $100 cheaper than an iPad and Microsoft Surface, it’s a no brainier that Google is set to release their new Nexus 4 phone starting at $299 UNLOCKED. The $299 price will only get you 8GB of memory, but you can upgrade for only $50 more to get 16GB of storage. That’s an amazing deal for an unlocked phone!

How about using that unlocked phone at reasonable price? Say $45 a month for unlimited talk, text, and about 2-3GB of data each month? I’ve been using Straight Talk for 3-4 months now and haven’t had any major issues! Granted I don’t get LTE service, but it sure beats paying $80 – $120 a month for a single phone!

I say give it a shot. If you have AT&T service, I even posted a message over on Straight Talk Support on how to get out of your AT&T contract without having to pay the cancelation fee! It actually worked for me with no issues!

Here are the Nexus 4 specs:

Snapdragon S4 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz
2 GB of RAM
4.7 inch True HD IPS Plus Display with a resolution of 768 x 1280 and 320 ppi
Corning Gorilla Glass 2
8 MP camera on the back coupled with a 1.3 MP front-facing sensor
8 / 16 GB of internal storage
2,100 mAh battery
NFC, wireless charging
Android 4.2 out of the box
Overall, it’s a very beefy high-end smartphone and judging by these specs it should be blazing fast. There are, however, other things that I should point out, such as the fact that the Nexus 4 will not have LTE but will benefit from HSPA+ 42 Mbps connectivity.

Since I’ve posted a few articles here on WireValley in regards to my experience with Straight Talk, APN settings, tutorials, screenshots, helping others, etc. I thought it would be a great idea to start a support website for all of us Straight Talk users!

It’s no mystery that Straight Talk support is next to zilch. You often call, get an India representative who has no idea what you’re talking about, which leaves you more frustrated. Don’t get my wrong, you may still have to end up calling Straight Talk should your data be throttled and it doesn’t reset at the beginning of the next month, but for helping with issues among each other, this new site will be the perfect solution!

The Samsung Galaxy Note II will land on all major U.S. carriers in time for the holidays, and if you’re an AT&T customer, they just announced that you can grab yours on November 9. It will be priced at $299 and pre-orders will start on October 25th. It will carry the same specs as the international Galaxy Note II, which include the whopping 5.5-inch (1280 x 720) display, quad-core Exynos processor, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note II will be the second quad-core LTE phone to hit AT&T, while the LG Optimus G will be the first because it will debut one week earlier. The upcoming HTC One X+ will be the third. It’s going to be one speedy holiday season.

AT&T Announces Samsung Galaxy Note II Available Nov. 9, Pre-orders Begin Oct. 25 Dallas, Texas, October 23, 2012 Beginning Nov. 9 customers interested in picking up a Samsung Galaxy Note® II will be able to purchase one for $299.99 with a two-year agreement in all AT&T* stores and online. Online pre-orders for this highly anticipated device are planned for Oct. 25 at www.att.com/galaxynoteii. Announced last month, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is one of the first smartphones launching at AT&T to feature a quad-core processor. Galaxy Note II uses a 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos™ processor with powerful graphics capabilities. The Galaxy Note II is thinner and narrower than the first Galaxy Note, and it improves upon the original with longer battery life, as well as enhancements to the S Pen™. AT&T is the only carrier to offer the original Samsung Galaxy Note™ at $199.99 with a two-year agreement. The Galaxy Note II will run on AT&T’s 4G LTE network. It will ship running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on its beautiful 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED™ display, perfect for customers who want the productivity of a tablet with the portability of a smartphone. The 8-megapixel camera allows users to easily share their photos with friends through Share Shot, while S Beam™ lets you quickly share videos, pictures, maps and more with other Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S® III devices. AT&T customers have access to the nation’s largest 4G network**, covering 275 million people. AT&T has two 4G networks that work together for customers, LTE and HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul. That means AT&T customers are able to enjoy a widespread, ultra-fast and consistent 4G experience on their compatible device as they move in and out of LTE areas. With other carriers, when you travel outside of their LTE coverage area, you may be on a much slower 3G network.

Back in September, Motorola Mobility announced that some of its handsets from 2011 and later wouldn’t be making the jump to Jelly Bean. In an effort to smooth things over with exiled customers, the company pledged that it would offer a $100 rebate to those who trade up to a select Motorola smartphone. Today, the Google-owned Android maker has released a list detailing which phones qualify for this promotion. If you’re among the many who purchased a Droid 3, Droid X2 and Photon 4G, it looks like an official update to Android 4.1 is out of the question. It should be noted that this offer doesn’t affect your wireless contract’s terms and conditions (read: ETF may still apply). However, if you’re just aching to pick up a Motorola phone that released in 2012, then why not score a $100 credit for your troubles? Move past the break to see which other devices made didn’t make the cut.

See folks, this is why you need to go with Samsung. They are the world’s largest Android phone maker, and in order to keep customers flocking to Samsung, they constant release updates. Most Samsung users overseas (UK, Korean, Europe, etc.) will receive Jelly Bean by the end of the year. If this were a Motorola phone (the Galaxy S III) Jelly Bean wouldn’t be rolling out until at least February or March of 2013.

I love my Sammy phones! Anyway, look at the list below to see if you qualify for $100 credit on your Motorola phone.

Google has been long rumored to plan the release of a new Android OS flavor before the end of this year, and not the Android 4.1.2 update that is currently rolling out on Nexus smartphones and on Motorola’s XOOM WiFi tablet PC.

Dubbed Android 4.2 but with no sweet name next to it as of yet (although some suggest that Google will attach Jelly Bean to it as well), the platform is said to be en-route to the market on a host of new Nexus devices coming from more than just one manufacturer.

LG is one of these, and its phone has already emerged in a review as Nexus 4, although it hasn’t been made official as of yet.

Nevertheless, it was seen with Android 4.2 on board, and the platform has been extracted from it and torn to pieces already.

To be more precise, the guys over at Android Police grabbed the ROM and took it for a spin, providing us with info on what to expect from the upcoming major platform upgrade from Google.

One thing that should be noted right from the start is that the build is not final, although apps in it are mentioning 4.2 and point to JellyBeanMR1 (for those out of the loop, 4.1.2 is JellyBeanMR0).

One thing that the ROM appears to be suggesting is that Google might be set to pack the stock platform with Quick Setting, nothing else than the notification power controls for radios, brightness and the like, the aforementioned news site reports.

Apparently, Google might include two pulldowns in the upcoming platform release, one to open the notifications and the second one to receive access to quick settings.

The status bar is visible when the notifications panel opens in the new OS release, while the panel has been set not to go all the way to the bottom, as it does today.

You can learn more on the findings through the video embedded below, or through heading over to this article on Android Police to read more on their thoughts on these changes.
